Overview World Poker Tour

World Poker Tour® is without a doubt one of the strongest of all brands in the poker industry. However, despite all the publicity, WPT has fallen far behind the competition. There have been some improvements to the software in mid 2007 and they certainly push the software to a much better position. We must commend the World Poker Tour team on their hard work to increase the player traffic, which they have succeeded with remarkably well.

Software
In mid 2007, the World Poker Tour software received a major update to its previously crippled software. CryptoLogic are the software provider and many players find they are quite fond of the software regardless of the fact it is basic and standard. We liked it for the faster game, which allows the game to move along with speed even when the occasional player tries to slow the hand. The platform CryptoLogic uses is not fancy but the interface is smooth and game transitioning is good. Further, the graphics are good and provide for a clean look to the overall playing environment.

Since the lobby has a hard, revitalizing look, players find they can locate the games they want to play easily which gives this room the approval of the players.

World Poker Tour offers players a new and enhanced playing environment and players have the financial security they need. In fact, players would need to look hard and long to find another poker room with any better financials than World Poker Tour

Traffic
When World Poker Tour Online went online for the first time in 2005, the site was plagued with a slow growth rate. Things have taken a turn for the better in 2007 after a significant software update, which is why you normally see over 3500 players playing at the tables. It is also worth noting that the Omaha tables are always alive with action.

Tournaments
Regular sit’n’go's come in mostly Texas Hold’em No Limit, ranging from free entries to $100. Over 90 percent of all tournaments are concentrated to Texas Hold’em No Limit.

Game Variety
High limits, low limits, and middle-of-the-road limits are all at World Poker Tour. The player can choose to play in Euro, American Dollar, or Pounds. The game choice is very good with players offered a good selection of Texas Hold’em, Omaha, and Seven-Card Stud games. Fixed limit, No-Limit, and Pot limit games are available enabling players the opportunity to choose their favorite game and their favorite variant of those games.

Soft Competition
A lot of people believe that the small online poker rooms are filled with mostly poor players. This is usually incorrect as soft competition is seeking its way to the large and usually heavily promoted poker rooms. Most of the very few players compete at an average level here and we usually see about 50% flop views. This is not tight play and if you are good, this will not be a struggle for you.

Sign Up Bonus
World Poker Tour gives all new players 100% sign up bonus up to $100 on their first deposit of any amount. Make a minimum deposit into a real money account and generate enough poker points (explained below under section Loyalty Rewards). Your bonus is released in $20, $30 and $50 increments. The bonus is redeemed by earning My Poker Points (MPP). The amount of bonus that you may redeem is directly related to the number of MPP's you collect.

Loyalty Rewards
Poker Points are earned through playing raked hands. For every $0.25-$0.99 of rake that you contribute, you earn 0.25 MPP. Anything greater than $1 rake gets you 1 MPP. These points can be redeemed for various awards, such as special freeroll entries (which usually do not get the full capacity, meaning that you get a good shot at the money) and poker merchandise, such as DVDs and more.

Promotions
It is no surprise that you will find satellites to World Poker Tour events here. The wealthy sign up bonus is a great welcome to all new depositing players as well. Additionally, various other freerolls are offered. These are usually scheduled on a standard time basis.

Support
World Poker Tour's email support is fast and efficient: playersupport@worldpokertour.com.

There is also a telephone support line which is open for international calls. Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom: 00800 3333 0333 (toll-free)

The quality of the responses is good and usually informative.
